Spain and Qatar discussed strengthening their relations, during a meeting between Ambassador of Spain to Qatar, Belen Alfaro Hernandez and Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani, Board Member of Qatar Chamber and President of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum.
As The Peninsula reports, both women spoke of the two countries’ potential to boost cooperation, with Al Ahmadani pointing out that trade and economic ties have been growing in recent years. She also added that Qatari businessmen and investors are increasingly expressing interest in Spanish investment projects across a range of areas.
Al Ahmadani went on to explain that now is a great opportunity to boost ties between the Qatari and Spanish private sector, adding that Spain’s medical expertise could be of great use to Qatar. Qatar’s private health sector is significantly improving as a result of help by authorities, the correct facilities and laws that encourage investment in hospitals and private clinics.
Spanish-Qatari companies that help boost economic and trade ties between the two countries are fully supported by the Chamber, which has revealed it is eager to help Spanish companies or investors delve into the Qatari market by providing any information necessary.
Ambassador Alfaro revealed that Spain is interested in what Qatar has to offer as an investment destination, adding that Spanish businessmen are eager to explore investment opportunities in Qatar, which the private sector has implemented many of in the two countries.
Furthermore, Alfaro said that plans to increase economic cooperation and trade exchange are already underway.
