Furthermore, new findings by the Atrápalo booking platform have revealed Málaga province stands out as one of the destinations most desired by Spanish tourists that choose to travel during the Easter holidays.
Spanish locals prefer to stay closer to home during the first big holiday of the main tourist season, with Tarragona, Alicante and the Costa del Sol being their preferred places to spend the time off, Diario Sur reports.
According to Atrápalo's data, around 82.23% of its customers have booked their Easter holidays within Spain. Following Tarragona, Alicante, and the Costa del Sol, Almeria and Girona are also popular destinations.
Moreover, if not in Spain, Spanish nationals' second choice is Europe, with 11.3% opting for destinations such as Portugal, Italy, France, and Andorra.
Only 6.12% of Spanish holidaymakers have chosen to book their Easter holidays in more distant destinations, including the United States, Africa, Egypt, and Morocco.
